Absolutely superb soul LP from 1974 from the obscure soul sister Janet Helms. There is not much information on the internet about her or this LP and the strange thing is that the reviews you can find online do not give this record the credit it deserves.  The production is ultra soulful throughout and Janets voice soars over the music which is both deep and funky throughout. The Stone Groove label may be small, but they splashed on the gatefold cover and the full production with a string section as well as horns. 
The LP contains at least a handful masterpieces of female soul. My personal fave is the intense and brooding "Surer than yesterday" which is peerless soul music. But the whole album is pure class. Seek it out!
